I’ve been at QA for about 3 months now, and the learning and great vibes keep coming. I only uploaded the week 6 blog a few weeks ago, because I haven’t had the time to write since getting back to university.
Variety was the spice of my sixth week at Sunny Media, because I got to do a bit of everything and had a bunch of great new experiences; such as, a pitch, looking at Roy Morgan research and the company’s monthly lunch. My days have moved from Monday and Tuesday to Thursday and Friday for the time being.
My fifth week at Sunny Media and I can feel my independence growing around the office. My workday started with Sharon teaching me more about how to check and complete media confirms. I had started with the basics last week with Michelle. This will allow me to do more around QA, which is my goal.
Week 4 at Sunny Media and I’m still having blast, learning heaps and getting to connect more with my co-workers.
The work day started with me arriving a little early, with Sarah and Michelle close behind.
It’s my third week at Sunny Media and I’m really feeling like a member of the team. My work day started with the team having a meeting with Caleb Harriot, Caleb spelt the boring way, from Go Transit.
My second week at Sunny Media included my first day at work, and my second day interning. Both days provided fantastic real word experiences, such as media scheduling, internal meetings and meetings with media representatives.
My first week of interning at Sunny Media was a great start to my career! I began this internship after receiving the Sunny Media bursary through my university – USC.When I received the bursary, Peppi Bueti, QA’s director of Public Relations, suggested I should come and meet the QA team and gain some work experience.
Sunny Media like to consider themselves a part of the community and where possible look to get involved and give back. The directors of QA play a positive part in the future of advertising, marketing and public relations, one of which has been their relationship with the University of the Sunshine Coast.
As part of sunnymedia’s commitment to the USC School of Communication bursary program, we also offer internship opportunities to third year students. We recently hosted Kylie Jorgensen who spent time with QAPR director Peppi Bueti to learn practical skills in public relations, event management and marketing. Here’s a quick blog from Kylie about her experience.
